THE HISTORY OF GAROFOLI WINE FROM DARIA GAROFOLI

Last week, Wine Time customers had the opportunity to taste wines from the oldest wine house Garofoli of the Marche region, Italy.

Our guest of honor Daria Garofoli represents the 4th generation of Garofoli - Antica Casa Vinicola. Daria, the owner of the winery, is a charming and amusing woman who has traveled almost all over the whole world, and the first time visited Rivne, Ternopil, Chernivtsi and Ivano-Frankivsk.

Garofoli Wine House has about 40 hectares of vineyards and produces over 2 million bottles of wine per year. Garofoli Winery is the oldest in the region of Marche. Founded in 1871, Garofoli became a bright epithet of the Marche winemaking. From generation to generation here the local varieties are put in order and the adjacent Sangiovese and Montepulciano are reconciled. But first of all it should be said about Verdicchio - the largest grape variety in this area. Due to this variety the wine world got to know about Marche. Under the supervision of a skilled winemaker and white wines made of Verdicchio impress with intelligence and intellectuality. One has only to look into its eyes, and you are there, in Marche, at least mentally - breathe a spectacular aroma of meadow flowers, sea and citrus, relish skillfully interwoven in a palette perfect freshness, minerality and spices, put together by means of the white thread of fruitiness.
